I was born in Malaysia and even though I'm not Malaysian at all and have only been there once while I can remember I still wanted to try something traditional out so after finding this recipe online: http://www.raspberricupcakes.com/2011/09/sticky-rice-kaya-macarons.html I had to give it a go. And that means making everything from scratch because I am totally against pre-bought things although sometimes I do admit to using them. But anyway the Kaya Jam which is stirred through the rice in the centre, took ages to make as it involves standing in front of the stove for an hour stirring a pot continuously but in the end the result was too good to resist and you can literally put it on anything and it tastes good!
