Petits Fours
My parents had a massive lunch at our house so I offered to cater most of the desserts in a high tea sort of style. Everything I made were mainly petits fours which I got from a recipe book dedicated to them and they are bitesize desserts which I think are french in origin hence the name. I adapted the recipes to suit my style and taste but in the end I think I took on way too much than I could manage with the last minute decision to ditch the lemon curd tartlets because I basically just didn't have enough time. In the end though everything turned out alright and it was the first time I really showcased my baking as for others as normally it was just something I did for the family.
The desserts included:
- Passionfruit and White Chocolate Tuilles
- Strawberry and Creme Sponges
- Dark Chocolate Mudcakes
- Orange and Passionfruit cheescakes
- Chocolate and Hazelnut Dacquoise
- Rosewater Meringues with Rasberry Cream (My personal favourite)
- Tirimisus
- Strawberry and Milk Chocolate Brownies
- Milk Chocolate Ice Cream (thats not a petits four but oh well)
And there could've been more but I forget. Anyway I know next time not to take on so many things with so much prep involved. they may be tiny but they are very time consuming, especially when you want everything as fresh as possible.
